Mo of Stone and Chalice muses on the vibes of the new moon in Pisces.
A lunation at 1ºPisces, a new moon, creates a potent portal to what could be if we allow our dreams to identify themselves to be actualized into existence. The moon and sun embrace one another in the ever-clearing waters of Pisces less than one hour before Venus curiously floats into Aries
, to be reintroduced to the distinction of self in the cosmic scheme.Ambition begins to build back up as we listen into what we once knew as beautiful. If our capacity to receive pleasure is directly tied to our capacity to create it, what would happen if we poured into what shakes warm joy into our flesh? Or maybe it’s cooling like dark stones and moss, refreshing river water filling our senses into a grounding pool of wisdom, or the warming sensations of relief that bring us back to life after being frozen and immovable.
Since last the moon was new, what is it that became clear to us? What has suffered and died in order for you to nourish your soil for the new seeds, the new vision, your new masterpiece? There is a clarity that comes after a storm, a breakthrough, when something gives. Creation involves knowing what to leave out, what to use a little of, what to hone in on and of course allowing your intuition to lead you. The blank canvas is yours.
When we allow illusions to melt away, there is beauty to be realized in raw nakedness, without embellishment created in dreamscapes and foggy spectacles. How can this current moment lead you to become the work of art that you dream of? Experiment within extremes to experience acceptance. Loosen up your tie, take the raincoat off and feel the rain on your bare skin, remember what it means to be alive, a life.
Can we detangle away the old haunting fears that loom over our art? Receive the information from the anxious feelings in your body, to morph into what you will soon claim fully to be yours. Your art can be anything you once took pride in, currently are proud of, or wish to claim again; brings joy into your bones; is the form that creates an imprint in energetic and material plane from the passionate motions of shifting the space around you, that feel second nature to you (from practiced mastery or what you’ve always known to be of your nature).
What if everything we knew as distinctly different, was actually one in the same?
What happens when something becomes something else? The lines begin to move to take on another form, maybe the colors deepen or lighten, perhaps the sounds or smells transform the landscape. How it feels reflects the ways that we discriminate between one thing and another. Anger feels like this but delight feels like this; green is very different from purple; this glass of water does nothing that a fur coat does. But what if everything was melted down together as you do iron to pour into a mold? To manipulate the shape through curating the layers of shifts in molecular structure and how it is perceived thereafter? What if everything we knew as distinctly different, was actually one in the same? Our judgment is the boundaries that lock everything in our reality into fixed places. This belongs here and that there. But what if just for one second of our day, there was no such thing as categories, boxes or ideas: Just life, moving like a dance between light and absence of light, dancing through a spectrum of color where the spectrum itself is all there is to identify? Constant flux.
Uranus square Mercury (February 21) challenges us to think outside the box, and Mars in Gemini trine Mercury in Aquarius (February 22) helps us to do just that. Whether it is coming to a resolution by agreeing to disagree, or allowing our unrelenting curiosity to be channeled into structured research to unlock hidden answers, there is support in our trek for freedom and theorizing for the future. Feeling stuck? Facilitate the feeling of unstuckness by moving your body, it could be wiggling your fingers and toes or taking up space with dancing or moving your arms up and around. Or try moving energy through sound, making noises.
Venus having left the overwhelming arms of Neptune (February 16) approaches Jupiter in Aries. There is a sense of coming-to from a fog of a dream, to a visceral desire and drive to create a desirable experience in seeking and sharing through this body and mind we’ve taken on.
What will your response be as curiosity knocks on your door?
— Mo
Editor’s note: Both the new moon in Pisces and Venus’s ingress into Aries are on February 20.
