On November 8th there’s a full moon eclipse in Taurus. Eclipses are shocking and revealing, and this one doubly so. Groundbreaking, game changing information is coming out.
It’s activating the Saturn/Uranus square that astrologers have been associating with these times of political insurgency, reactionary wing nuts, and rebellion in any which way which is confronting systems in power. This aspect has been one of the signatures of 2021-2022, and the eclipse is falling very close in line with it.
It’s interesting that it’s happening on an Election Day, isn’t it? Eclipses can represent a throne being usurped, a powerful person stepping down, as they are eclipsed, making a fateful exit. It will be an interesting election cycle in the United States, if you’re into that sort of thing.
There’s a Mercury cazimi (sun/Mercury conjunction) near the full moon eclipse, which can also represent information being revealed and news coming in. I like the Mercury cazimi for a voting day. Mercury is numbers, and the sun is honesty and order. This Mercury cazimi happening in Scorpio might shed a light on taboo, unspoken topics.
This is the superior conjunction of Mercury and the sun, so Mercury is on the other side of the sun now. The superior conjunction is said
to be more comfortable with taking calculated risks, making informed decisions. There may be many nerve racking variables floating around, but a Mercury cazimi in Scorpio can cut to the chase and make everything clearly defined. This full moon is happening in the sign of Taurus! The moon is happy in Taurus, the sign of its exaltation. There can be an element of radical grounding. Doing anything it takes to find comfort, nutrition, shelter, peace… the dragon’s voraciously hungry. Issues around food and how much it costs seem to be reaching a peak.
Venus, the planet of harmony, rules Taurus and is a planet that describes this eclipse. Venus is just past a square to Saturn. Events signifying commitment or responsibilities in relationships are freshly behind us. It was likely no easy feat. It’s a time of chickens hatching, and counting the hatched chickens.
If you have anything near 16° of the fixed signs (Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius, Leo) you can use these points as an entryway for reflection.
Venus is on its way to harmonizing with Neptune and Jupiter. Difficult tests are behind us. Now there’s self soothing, slipping into a fantasy land, and looking at things from a broader perspective.
I wrote about what all of these things mean for each sign on your weekly horoscope, which you should check out!
