Is the moon in Gemini forbidden fruit?
Is the moon in Gemini the fruit of knowledge? Is it Sophia? Is it gnosis?
The moon goes from Taurus (exalted) to Gemini (???) to Cancer (domicile).
What is Gemini doing in the middle of these two signs? I know in my last writing I said the moon after a new moon in Taurus is a crescent moon, in Cancer, relating to historical crescent goddess imagery, but sometimes if the new moon happens in the early degrees of Taurus, the first crescent moon visible is in Gemini.
So if Taurus is the sign of the moon’s exaltation, Cancer the sign of the moon’s domicile… What’s the moon doing when it’s in Gemini, the sign that sits in the middle of the two?
There is an orphic lineage of the moon having three divisions, which is the origin of the neopagan idea of the triple goddess (maiden/mother/crone).
Is Gemini also a sign of Goddess, because of its chronological zodiacal position between Taurus and Cancer? Isn’t the moon in every sign representative of goddess since the moon in itself represents goddess/mother?
Is the moon in Gemini somehow related to the Mercurial imagery of the Virgin goddess, who is dualistic, both woman and divine? What is it with crescents in art history, as a universal trope of divinity?
Gemini is so often depicted as the scene from The Garden of Eden. Is the moon in Gemini the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil? Is Gemini a representation of good/evil? Is the moon in Gemini Sophia? Is she Jesus’s twin (“the syzygy of Jesus”)? Does the moon in Gemini represent gnosis?
Do I need to finish reading the academic text on Hellenism and gnosticism that I spent close to 150$ on and would never loan out to anyone, but is somehow online for free here after a quick Google search?
The visibility of the moon corresponds with understanding what you want, what one wants to materialize. The new moon is uncertain, questioning, barren. It’s not the most confident platform to jump from. Every new moon those who lack a strong inner light struggle through our monthly collective “dark night of the soul”. Everyone has moments of struggle and separation. Hopefully the silence just means that you can think clearly. <3
