Pisces new moon, meet Saturn
positive and negative anecdotes from the moon-Saturn conjunction in Pisces
There’s a new moon in Pisces today. New moons begin a new cycle. Before the tropical winter season ends, let's wrap up. Use this sensitive new moon to connect with whatever is in your heart, especially if it’s taboo, uncomfortable, unconventional. You’re probably not the only one who thinks and feels this way. Before you think about doing anything, first check-in with how you’re feeling to get oriented. Connecting to your feelings is the most important task.
The new moon in Pisces aligns exactly on February 28, 2025, at 1:44 AM CET (Berlin time). There are a lot of planets in Pisces right now: moon, sun, Mercury, Saturn. Not to mention the north node, the moon's ecliptic, just got here. This new moon is not an eclipse, but upcoming syzygies in Pisces and Virgo will be!
Pisces is about to be fully loaded. It already has been, with Saturn here for the past few years. Saturn is in its final degrees of the final zodiac sign, about to begin a new epoch in Aries this coming spring.
There's tension until after the moon's conjunction with Saturn on February 28 at 7:41 PM CET. I've been paying attention to the moon-Saturn conjunctions, since they often come with some struggles, disappointments, tears. It’s an aspect that I’ve paid attention to more than any other aspects during my extended sabbatical. When the moon meets Saturn in Pisces, I realize things aren't what I thought they were. It's a harsh reality check, or my delusions end up being tested. I’m meant to be singing a duet at a talent show at that time…
Since this new moon is conjunct Saturn, maybe all of Pisces season (until the end of March, roughly) is going to be a harsh reality check. It’s necessary dirty work that we need to do before we come out of the other side in the spring.
What have I been avoiding, or in denial about? Probably a lot. I meditated on "denial" while I was on my lunch break. I spiraled into a Sabian symbol. Pisces 5: A secretary shuts her eyes over a bowl of canned tuna fish and breathes through a panic attack.
Mundane example, but my dermatologist appointment took place at the last moon-Saturn conjunction. I was noticing patterns, and when that happens, I have to pull up the chart of the moment. In the waiting room, I saw the moon was conjunct Saturn. I predicted my appointment, which I was up until that point very excited about, wouldn't go well. I was right.
The appointment didn't go the way I had hoped. When I tried to make a follow-up appointment, I learned that they only accept private health insurance, and the entire thing would be paid out of pocket. When I went to get the prescription filled, I learned the expensive prescription was also not covered. Finally, when I picked up the prescription, the text on the bottle did not match the text on the prescription. I went back to the pharmacy and they said it was just a typo.
My skin is looking better since, which must be the inherently optimistic attribute of a Pisces moon (medieval astrology favors Jupiter-ruled moons), but I had to sell a lot of stuff on Vinted to cover my ointment bill, and I straight up feel like the world is ending.
During another recent moon-Saturn conjunction in Pisces, I proceeded with caution. I had finished a job application, but before hitting send, I pulled up the chart of the moment. I saw that the moon was applying to a conjunction with Saturn. I figured the application would be better received if I superstitiously waited until after the moon-Saturn conjunction to send it.
As I let the application marinate on my desktop, I realized there were critical ways that I could improve it. In this case the moon-Saturn conjunction held a lot of wisdom. Here I found out how I could more effectively reflect my experience and make my application more competitive. By restraining myself and waiting (Saturnian), I was able to win some moon-Saturn boons: I could illuminate my experience. Moon Saturn. Still haven’t heard back, but whatever.
Give yourself a hug before you do something stupid. Wear earplugs, lay on the floor, sit in the dark in silence. Simply stop.
And reply to this, or in the chat, with any questions. I'm around, and starting to get back into my Substack again.. Good luck everyone.

wonderful to see you back Randon 💜 definitely feeling the Saturn this week, lots of structuring & planning happening this end
Awesome anecdotes, both the bad and the good. If ever there was an aspect meant for waiting and becoming more embodied and in tune with our feelings and surroundings, Saturn-Moon conjunct is it, especially in epically emotional Pisces.
And thanks for bringing up denial. There’s something I’ve been in denial about that I know is actually easier to surrender to (Pisces, and N Node in Pisces/S Node in Virgo) than I’ve been willing to hear, but your post helped me hear it. Now, it’s time for me to listen and act.
Thanks again and good luck back!
