Mercury retrograde has ended!
I’ve been seeing lots of posts about the murder cases that are being solved in retrospect. My two cents on the topic: it was a Mercury retrograde in Libra thing. Libra is the sign of justice, and Mercury retrograde looked back at details and clues, going back into the stacks. This one made helpful aspects to Saturn, the planet of rules, and Jupiter, the planet of freedom/philosophical truth! According to Valens, Jupiter also relates to justice, too. All three planets (Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn) are stationing around the same time. Plus, during this Mercury retrograde, Mercury squared off with Pluto, the planet of secrets, a few times, digging up dirt. Pluto also recently stationed direct.
So, let’s look at the chart for Mercury’s direct station. When planets begin or end retrograde, they change directions, which known as a planetary station. Mercury stations retrograde when it appears to stop moving, then moves backwards. It stations direct when it again appears to be stationary, but this time the direction turns forward.
The strongest aspects that Mercury is making as it stations are: an opposition to Chiron (0º), a sextile to Venus (1º), and a trine to Saturn (3º).
These aspects are more relevant, since as Mercury stations, it lingers stationarily in that one degree before picking up speed again. These aspects last longer.
Mercury opposite Chiron can point to releasing ideas around pain and healing. Revelations or sharing about things that have hurt us.
A sextile to Venus points to communicating romantic ideals, whether this is through relationships or art.
A trine to Saturn means we are resolving issues related to boundaries in relationships, making steps towards something lasting— a long journey.
As Mercury goes back over the path it just retrograded, there’s going to be a lot of repetition. Mercury retrograde gives us the space to correct ourselves. The post-retrograde period is retribution. Grace.
This week is going to be feisty, and potentially aggro, though. Finally all of these planets are direct! The full moon in Aries, plus Mars square Pluto… plus Mercury finally not being so introspective, speaking its sassy Libra thoughts… The opposition to Chiron indicates people expressing their hurt feelings. A general rule of thumb: Don’t be so defensive, and try to think before you speak. Read your weekly horoscope to learn more about how it affects your sign!
