I’m looking for astrologers and astrology students to submit to Good Horoscope, with the intention of eventually establishing regular weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly columns. I’m offering a service as an editor & publisher.

By working with other writers, I will have more time to send out more juicy, polished articles with cuter graphics, and bigger ideas. I’ll also have more time to develop Good Horoscope as its own blog/magazine.

I want to edit and platform the writing that I want to read… I am no longer Good Horoscope myself— I want Good Horoscope to exist as a collective, with the purpose of furthering the practice and study of astrology.

Here at Good Horoscope we value a “good” direction. As you may know, I’m a little obsessed with astrology ethics. No evil astrology allowed— no robots, no prejudices, no oversimplification based on sun sign, no doom. Just astrologers doing their thing with the glorious celebration of our free will and the art of astrology.

I’ve been writing and editing my own work on Substack for about two years now, and I’m keen on improving the writing that’s sent out weekly by stepping up as an editor. There are a lot of brilliant astrologers out there with great ideas. I want to polish and publish them.

I’ve been writing horoscopes and astrology articles for about five years now, and worked in online publishing for slightly longer. I feel confident in my ability to slap a blog/newsletter together.

Please, astrologers and astrology students: send me work that is at any phase of the writing process. We will bake it together. Maybe you can use the finished, edited piece to submit to more formal astrology publications and magazines.

What Good Horoscope wants:

✰ Mundane astrology

Astrology relating to the cultural/political/natural world, removed from ego or personality. Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly column preferred, but all submissions accepted.

✫ Poetic astrology

Metaphors only! As someone who has read The Pattern and been able to tell you exactly which aspects and transits are being translated… I want more of that. The public responds to astrology bereft of the techincal information— all of the work is hidden behind the curtain. We want the poesis, the magic trick without explaining the joke.

This astrology is both taken more lightly as entertainment, but it also elicits the biggest response. It is still astrology, that can be decoded by astrologers, but the general public will not know the recipe. You must be able to tell me what transits and aspects you’re writing about, but the finished product will be cryptic and poetic— all of the equations are hidden.

Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly column preferred, but all submissions accepted.

✰ Lunation analysis

Articles about each full moon and new moon, to be published the week of that lunation. Keep it simple. Something like the article I wrote about the latest eclipse.

Bi-weekly or monthly column, depending on your availability.

✫ Astrology research

Super nerdy, technical articles about stuff like astrology in the southern hemisphere, or anything with a table and data sets about like the Pluto returns of Rome. I want graphs. I want charts. I want to upset scientists.

One-off submissions, or a series of work is welcome.

⚠️ All published works will be around 500 words each, with the option to breaking them into multiple installations. Larger articles can be up for discussion.

Basically I want to read astrology writing that is removed from individual psychology, unless it’s spoken in song. I want astrology about group psychology. We’re going ✈️ Civilization and its Discontents. If we are able to take it there, I want to point us towards that north star.
